2 useful websites for creating basic content to your website

On this first months at DBS, I have gotten the opportunity to be presented to many good tools that will help me in the future in my professionell work. In todays blog post I am going to tell you about some of these tools that my very competent teachers has given to me and explain a little bit about what I think they can help me with in future professional roles. ____________________________________________________________________________ Piktochart.com was a website that caught my eye last week when we were given the task of compiling information creatively using Piktochart you can create content from scratch or by editing finished templates and the website is partially free. After me and my classmate had completed an infographic there, I chose to use Piktochart to create a new CV. HTML TO A SIMPLE BLOG IN 3 QUICK STEPS

HTML is the language of the world wide web and for the last couple of weeks I've been having the   the honour of beginning my journey to learn about this huge and complex language. I came to learn that HTML is something that i've stumbled upon a lot without even knowing, for instance in the online communities that I used when I was younger.  13 year old me, sat at those online communities creating HTML code to make a cool design on my profile at the 90's Swedish social community "Lunarstorm" and now here I am, in Dublin 13 years later doing it again and get to learn more and more for every lecture. So, that is enough on my romantic story about my journey with HTML, lets look at some things that I've learned so far. With these three elements below, you can easily start a simple blog that contains text, pictures and videos that your users can read and look at. 1. THE VERY BASICS OF CREATING A WEBPAGE The foundation of building a webpage contains of the ...

My consumer journey

Ever since I got my first money to pick out a toy in at Toys R Us or since my parents gave me coins to go to the local shop to buy some candy, I have been a consumer one way or another. As a consumer I have gone through the stages of consuming for different reason and basing my choices on different kinds of emotions, values and experiences. The product that have had to consume has also been for many different reasons and has changed a lot over time. 6 years ago i moved out of my parents house to a bigger city and my consumer behavior changed drastically. I was now on my own person how was choosing amongst products after my own wants, needs, experience and values with that brand. Before moving out of my parents house all my money went to my hobbies, clothes and entertainment. And since I was making money working but still living at home, I saved money for my future apartment. I came to learn that it was a big change to go from just buying clothes and gears to paying for electrici...

What makes a good website?

Technology is always testing my patience and the level of frustration that I feel while visiting a buggy, illogical or uninformative website that is supposed to help me with a problem is total.  There is certain things that me as a consumer, or a person looking for information expects to see while visiting certain web addresses and this really became clear to me when i the other day in class, heard about Jacob Nielsen and his 10 usability principles.  Reading about this made me think about a particular website that I often visit and that what of the principles i personally think they succeed with and how they are presented.  I visit the online auction website  https://www.bukowskis.com  a few times a week to look at antiques and design objects, and I thought it could be interesting to see where Bukowskis web function and design succeeds in reference to a few of Nielsens principles.  One of the principles that I personally think Bukowskis is...

The only food blog you will ever need (that will also save you a lot of money)

As a person who is born in the early 90's blogs was a big part of my life growing up. I have read blogs about fashion, politics and traveling during my years online and the blogs have always reflected the interests that I had during that particular time of my life.  For the last past years, as my vegetarian cooking interest has grown, I have been looking online for inspiration my growing food interest that also will fit my tight student budget.  That was why i was so happy when I found this Swedish blog that makes good quality food that is both healthy for your body and for the planet. And on top of that the owner, Hanna Olvenmark aims to make all of the food that she cooks and puts up on her blog at the small amount of one euro per portion.  Hanna Olvenmark is a legitimized nutritionist and writes on her blog that she "became so incredibly tired of the boring myth that all good food is expensive" and that she a lot of the time sees cooking for a small amou...
